slumdog millionaire -the kids were cute!

after so much talk about slumdog millionaire, i really wanted to see the film and i happened to get the dvd too.
we were having a slumber party at my friend's place and we watched it there.
yeah, the film potrays the poor india. leave out the ppl who party all night in pubs, rake in millions, attend general meetings comfortably in one of their many best suits. no, the movie is not about them. it is actually "supposed" to be the story of the orphan who won in the quizzing show.
the movie first starts with jamal malik, the "call centre assistant, chai waala" as anil kappor chooses to call him, (but why is the host shown as a mean person, i mean, both the hosts of KBC were very endearing, but this guy's so called humour is cheesy and humiliating. aargh! ) participating in the show. the flashback of his life unfolds as his narration to the police officer who interrogates him.
the kids, the kiddo jamal, latika and salim were super cute! their silly laughs and simple happiness appealed to me very much. the kiddo salim's dialog "le le varna chchod doonga"  with his typical mumbhai slum accent, was like whoa!!! :)
people always say mumbai is dirty, but garbage and litter reaching the size of a fairly small hill, god! hello, is it a place where humans manage to live!!?? (rolls her eyes)
music and the background score, stands out (how will it not, its A.R's creation!)
on the whole, the movie is good, but really not worth the hype. not so bad to have so many contraversies about it either.
