celebrating a politician's birthday!

if you live in madurai, you'd defenitely know who Mr.azhagiri is! well, anyways, today was his date of birth. you might be thinking why am mentioning this on my blog.! am doing it, because i never knew a birthday could cause so much hinderance to so many ppl; actually the whole of madurai population.

i do accept he is a politician, a well known personality and all that, but do they really need to emphasize it SO much? for a month, "decorations" were done in the whole city to make it "look good"(!!??!!) on mr.azhagiri's birthday! believe it or not, wherever i go, whichever direction i see, only his face is visble! enormous posters, hoardings are the stuff that "adorns" the sides of every road. you know what, after seeing the same face so many times, it kinda got stuck to my vision. :P because of all these, there was always traffic and congestion in the heart of the city, even a week before the "big day" arrived! 

the biggest nuisance of all, the SPEAKERS! man, such huge speakers blaring different songs at the same time in the same kutty street, all praising their party. there were remixes too, they rewrote the lyrics of tamil songs to suit their need! boy, was it funny!!! i couldnt stand so much of noise, i really appreciate the shopkeepers who were there! i mean, my dad and myself were standing so close, but still i had to yell in his ear!

the public were even given laddus to celebrate along with the followers! 

i didnt get one tho! :( :P
